Three events with more than 140 participants took place in frames of the forum. The first of them is the seminar "Interaction of Siberian Regional Flagship Universities in SCO Space for the Development of the Export Potential of Russian Education" gathered not only the representatives of the management and international services of several Siberian flagship universities, but also representatives and students from the universities of Norilsk, Dushanbe, Barnaul, Kyzyl, Kemerovo and Krasnoyarsk. Participants from the flagship universities discussed the issues common for them and agreed on the development of networking in the field of international cooperation and the export of educational services.
The second event was a webinar "The experience of universities cooperation in the organization of academic and research activities of students. Best Practices ", in which partners of NSTU from East Kazakhstan State Technical University (Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan), Tajik Technical University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) and Osh State University (Osh, Kyrgyzstan) shared their experience and ideas.
The closing event of the day in NSTU was the panel discussion "Interaction of universities with diplomatic representatives of SCO countries and national diasporas in organizing of the foreign citizens` training", raising very up-to-date and important issues of stay, migration, medical services and adaptation of foreign students in universities. The urgency and sharpness of the topic lead to the increase the duration of the event from the planned one and a half to three hours.
The head of Novosibirsk region, Andrey Travnikov, made a welcome speech at the opening ceremony of the III SCO Student Forum. The head of the region noted that Novosibirsk region is one of the leading scientific and educational centers of Russia with a unique university environment. According to Mr. Travnikov, more than five thousand foreign students from 50 countries are currently studying in the region. Most of the students are citizens of SCO countries.
