Novosibirsk State Technical University has created an online application that can relieve stress in 30 seconds and set you up for positive thinking through proven scientific techniques.
Elena Dubrovskikh, a second-year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Humanities at NSTU-NETI, said that the reason to create a quick psychological help application was the data from all-Russian statistics, which showed an increase in stress levels in recent years, and a personal survey of more than 150 residents of different regions of Russia aged 25 to 55 years. Most often, respondents complain about problems in their personal lives and health. In second place are worries about loss of income and conflict situations at work. All together, this creates chronic stress, which increases the risk of various diseases.
Elena Dubrovskikh offers to relieve stress with the help of a special application "Recharge". The project became one of the participants of the REACTOR accelerator.PRO NSTU-NETI.
The application, designed for users between 25 and 55 years old, quickly helps to regain stability. "It is enough to describe your condition, assess the intensity of the probable emotions suggested by artificial intelligence, after which the chatbot will provide a 30-second practice, for example, a breathing exercise to eliminate momentary bursts of stress," said Elena Dubrovsky.
According to the developer, "Recharge" includes a system of "red flags" for diagnosing crisis conditions and automatically redirecting to specialist partners, a library of practices with audio and video guides, a mood tracker, personal statistics for tracking dynamics, quotes of the day to support resource status and game mechanics.
Effective and proven techniques were used for quick "recharging", including the Mindful Self-Compassion program with a combination of cognitive behavioral techniques, breathing exercises and self-compassion practices, Paul Gilbert therapy, body-oriented exercises from the Russian school of somatic psychology and Alexandra Strelnikova breathing exercises.
"Thus, we are completing two tasks — instantly helping a person with acute stress and building a mental health system with the possibility of in—depth work with a psychologist," said Elena Dubrovskikh.
Currently, the chatbot is undergoing a closed test phase in the messenger, where more than 50 work scenarios are prescribed, after which the "Recharge" will be open for focus testing on a wide audience to improve the interface. In the future, it is planned to launch a paid version for Android by subscription, enter marketplaces and the B2B market with offers to support the mental health of employees and prevent burnout for the business community.
