The Youth Laboratory of Reverse Engineering and Prototyping of NSTU-NETI has developed a device for lifting and moving loads. The design is a crane beam for small rooms and warehouses, it is characterized by mobility and compact dimensions. According to Alexey Alimov, the head of the laboratory, a 2.5-meter-high crane with a two-meter boom is capable of lifting almost 300 kg.
"The developed crane beam is a basic model designed to develop students' key engineering competencies. During the design process, 3D computer modeling methods were applied, and the manufacture of the structure included laser cutting and machining of metal elements. The main focus was on optimizing the structure in terms of mechanical strength, stability and ease of use," said Alexey Alimov.
The engineering design has already passed all the necessary tests with and without a counterweight. The laboratory was satisfied with the results and plans to upgrade the design to a more automated version in the future.
The main features of the girder crane are its compact size, which allows you to move loads in small spaces, as well as its affordable price. A similar hydraulic crane with a counterweight and a rotary boom now costs about half a million rubles, while the cost of the design developed in the reverse engineering and prototyping laboratory of NSTU-NETI does not exceed 250 thousand rubles.
The youth laboratory for reverse engineering and prototyping was created as part of the strategic project "New Engineering Solutions and Artificial Intelligence for Biomedicine" of the Priority 2030 program.
