On Friday (December 6), Anatoly Bataev, Rector of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI0, made a presentation at a working meeting with Anton Alikhanov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Travnikov, Governor of the Novosibirsk Region.
The meeting was attended by rectors of Russian universities and the largest employers in the field of industry. The participants of the event discussed the training of personnel capable of responding to modern challenges and accelerating technological development.
In his report, the Rector of NSTU-NETI noted the importance of scientific and technological cooperation between the university and enterprises of the Russian Federation not only in terms of training highly qualified engineering personnel, but also in terms of building a technological chain together with an industrial partner, from technology development to a finished product.
At the meeting, the topic of targeted training of engineering personnel for the industry was discussed. NSTU-NETI really has a lot of experience in this matter: the highest competition in 2024 for targeted training in Russian universities was at the Higher School of Economics (7 people per place), in second place — NSTU-NETI with a competition of 6 people per place. About 70% of students of targeted training at the university study in the interests of defense industry enterprises. The participants of the round table outlined the need for a number of changes in the program of admission of target groups, conditions for attracting students to training programs. The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation noted the need for a comprehensive discussion on the creation of comfortable conditions for admission, training and fulfillment of obligations on the part of both the student and the university and the enterprise. The rector of NSTU-NETI noted that the number of students of targeted education is growing annually and this trend will continue: if in 2020 the number of such students was 379, then in 2024 — 979.
"It is important for the university that such high-tech enterprises as PJSC Rushydro, Eltex, PJSC Element, NPPP Vostok not only come for graduate students to replenish their staff, but together with departments carry out joint training of specialists on real projects, investing in the scientific and educational infrastructure of the university, creating a unique educational and production environment within the walls of the university. The motivation to work at such enterprises remains with the student not only within the framework of the contract for targeted training, but also for the long term. And targeted training is about the responsibility of three parties: the student, the university and the enterprise, where everyone should benefit," Anatoly Bataev noted.
The meeting participants also discussed the prospects for the development of scientific and industrial associations in the Russian Federation, which in practice, when combining the efforts of educational organizations and enterprises in the real sector of the economy, should accelerate the launch of scientific research into production and production, however, a balance of interests of all parties has not yet been found in this issue.
