On March 4, Sergei Tsukar, the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Novosibirsk Oblast, held a lesson for students of the NSTU NETI Engineering Lyceum.
The minister told how artificial intelligence helps to create works of art, what current jobs exist in the IT-sphere and how to teach a robot to listen and recognize music.
According to Evgeniya Tsyss, a computer science teacher at the NSTU NETI Engineering Lyceum, students actively participate in the Data lesson, willingly solve tasks, and show great interest in IT professions.
Data Lesson is an All-Russian educational project that allows students to gain knowledge from leading technology companies and develop digital economy skills and competencies. The lesson is held as a part of the national program "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation," which is being implemented in Russia in accordance with the Decree of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated May 7, 2018 № 204 "On National Goals and Strategic Objectives of the Russian Federation till 2024".
“The purpose of the Data Lesson is to arouse students' interest in IT technologies, to show them how significant and interesting this field is, and to give them practical knowledge and skills. Together with specialists from largest companies, we tell young people about the technology, current trends, the benefits of the information industry. This is especially important taking into account the needs of our economy in qualified IT personnel. Data Lessons are held in Novosibirsk Oblast regularly and cover all schools in the region”, Sergey Tsukar said.
As a part of the lesson, young people learn how to digitize music, learn how recommendation algorithms work in music services, and try to use technology to write their own music.
In addition, at the Data Lesson students learn what are the most popular jobs in the field of information technology today and where to study to become a high-class specialist.
