Novosibirsk has developed directional industrial vibration-resistant antennas for Wi-Fi networks and wireless data transmission in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, designed to operate in conditions with high requirements for signal quality and communication stability.
The antennas are designed to provide stable wireless communications at industrial facilities (for example, quarries, deposits, and heavy industry manufacturing plants). The equipment allows for high bandwidth, long range and reliable communication using MIMO 3x3 or 4x4 technology, which is important for transmitting large amounts of data (for example, video surveillance, equipment management).
A unique feature of the domestic solution is the implementation of a low level of lateral and reverse radiation of the antennas, which allows for stable communication even in conditions of strong interference. Unlike foreign solutions, which mainly use MIMO 2x2 or SISO technology, MIMO 3x3 and 4x4 technology is implemented in the equipment — a rarity among panel antennas. The equipment has high isolation between the antenna ports (more than 30 dB), which is critically important for the operation of MIMO systems.
The full production cycle of radio equipment for corporate communications is located in Novosibirsk. This makes it possible to provide constant technical support to users, as well as to establish convenient logistical links with distributors of telecommunications equipment.
Unlike imported antennas on the market, mainly Chinese ones, the Novosibirsk solution fully complies with the declared technical parameters, operational requirements of mechanical strength and electrical strength, as well as high repeatability. At the same time, the price of the equipment is competitive. It is possible to develop an antenna for specific necessary tasks, with online operation and receiving feedback during product development and operation.
The antenna development was supported by the Innovation Promotion Foundation in the Student Startup competition — the project received a grant of one million rubles. The author of the project, Vadim Sokolov, a student at Novosibirsk State Technical University, says: "The funds of the Innovation Assistance Fund helped to register their LLC, produce antenna prototypes (TRL7), participate in a specialized conference and conduct an advertising campaign. In February 2025, we made the first sale of a batch of 6 antennas!"
In addition to the head of Vadim Sokolov, the startup's team includes pre-sale engineer Andrey Kolesnikov and marketer Elina Sokolova. The team plans to participate in the Start-1 grant competition. The Novosibirsk Regional Innovation Foundation, a regional representative of the Innovation Promotion Foundation, provides assistance in preparing the application.
The antennas are currently undergoing pilot tests at two enterprises. One of them is the world's largest producer of nickel, palladium, platinum, copper, silver, gold and other non—ferrous metals. The second is an international gold mining company with a production volume of over one million ounces of gold per year. The radio equipment of Novosibirsk innovators is installed at large deposits in the Arctic and Yakutia.
Further development of the project is planned by attracting investors, selling the product to large integrators and distributors.
