On September 10, in Moscow, within the framework of the fifth meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Commission for Cooperation in Education, Science and Technology, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) Sergey Chernov signed an agreement on the university's entry into the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities. The signing ceremony was held with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky and the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Vietnam, Le Xuan Dinh.
The consortium's work is aimed at teaching students undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs, as well as at professional development and additional professional education.
It is important to note that Vietnam has been allocated one of the largest quotas for education in Russia — 1,000 budget places per year. For the successful development of this quota, it is extremely important to implement Russian educational programs in cooperation with industrial partners from Vietnam. This will create new opportunities for students and improve the quality of education provided within the framework of the consortium.
"Cooperation with Vietnam began for our university relatively recently, at the end of 2023. During this period, we were able to establish stable ties largely thanks to our delegations, who took part in exhibitions of Russian universities organized by Rossotrudnichestvo in Hanoi. We received a positive response from representatives of Vietnamese universities, scientific organizations and enterprises, which opened up new prospects for joint activities.
In order to achieve full-fledged and productive cooperation, it is necessary to ensure a systematic approach to integration in the Vietnamese educational market. We believe that an important aspect is the joint construction of an effective model for the export of Russian education, which involves the creation of sustainable interaction based on common goals and strategies. We are glad that we have become a part of the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities. We are confident that our cooperation will bring significant results for both sides and will become a solid foundation for the development of relations between our countries," said Sergey Chernov, Vice—Rector for Academic Affairs at NSTU-NETI.
In addition to NSTU-NETI, the Russian-Vietnamese Consortium of Technical Universities currently includes: Moscow Aviation Institute, National Research University "MEI", Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Far Eastern Federal University, Moscow Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" named after V. I. Ulyanova (Lenin), Tyumen Industrial University, Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin, Moscow State Linguistic University and the State Institute of the Russian Language named after A. S. Pushkin.
