At Novosibirsk State Technical University, a team of students is developing a STUDY BOT application that combines several functions in one interface, which will make the educational process easier and more efficient.
The project is implemented within the framework of the discipline "Fundamentals of project activity". The team consists of students from different faculties (Faculty of Humanities, Institute of Social Technologies, Faculty of Mechatronics and Automation, Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering), the scientific supervisor is Victoria Dvoretskaya, Assistant Professor of the Department of Automated Control Systems at NSTU-NETI.
The idea of the project is based on personal experience: in educational activities, students felt the need for a universal tool that allows them to productively build the learning process. This inspired the team to create an application with extensive functionality, from storing notes to preparing for exams.
As Nikita Konurov, a student at the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering, notes, the task was to combine the tools necessary for learning in one product. The developers focused on the preferences of the student audience — for this they conducted beta testing, which was attended by 50 people. At the first stage, it was decided to implement the function of storing notes in different categories, as well as scheduling with reminders of classes.
In the future, it is assumed that it will be possible to upload a summary to a neural network — the AI will have 10 questions on the text of the lecture to test knowledge and better assimilate the topic. This feature will be useful when preparing for a test or an exam.
"In the application, it will be possible to create a class schedule with the ability to set deadlines for tests or exams. In order to structure the study time and make it more productive, the volume of tasks can be divided into several days or weeks. The app will remind you: today you have to solve three tasks or go through two topics. This will allow us to develop time management skills," said Ksenia Bashkirova, a student at the Institute of Social Technologies.
The developers also plan to add a motivation system to the application in the form of rewards for completed tasks that will be visible to other users.
To date, a Telegram bot has been created with several functions (storing notes, making a schedule with the possibility of event reminders). There is a feedback button for feedback and suggestions. There are plans to switch to the MAX platform. By May 2026, it is planned to launch an application that will implement many functions that allow you to effectively build the learning process: automation of study planning, personalization of schedules, tracking deadlines, notes, smart reminders.
At the student development competition held in December 2025, the team competed in the junior league and took 2nd place in the "IT project" nomination with the STUDY BOT project.
