Students of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) Daniil Khlebovsky (4th year) and third–year students Bogdan Golub and Roman Vorontsov will compete for victory in the final of the third season of the All-Russian competition "Start the Game" of the presidential platform "Russia is a country of opportunities".
The competition is being implemented within the framework of the federal project "Social elevators for everyone" of the national project "Education".
All three finalists from NSTU-NETI study in the specialty "Computer Science and Computer Engineering": Daniil Khlebovsky in the correspondence department, Bogdan Golub and Roman Vorontsov in person.
Daniil's project "Roasting at home" — a mobile assistant for children and their parents in matters of safety — became one of the favorites in the nomination "Science, Education and Healthcare". During the game, with the help of Aiko bee and educational cartoons, young users can learn the basic rules of behavior in the house and on the street. Since the main target audience of the game is kids from 4 years old, each level, color and music are previously moderated by a child psychologist.
"It is important to remember that technology is only a tool for turning our ideas into reality," notes Daniil Khlebovsky. — We need to be not just developers, but also strategists who understand how our product will solve user requests. Our mobile game is aimed at ensuring the safety of children and helps parents feel calm when their children explore the world. I sincerely believe that "Obzheyka" will find its audience."
The Yakut game is also the leader in its nomination — "Regions and Languages of Russia". The game takes place in the snow-covered tundra of Yakutia of the XIX century. The user tries on the role of a young nomad, Ayan, who needs to take care of a herd of deer, extract resources and make decisions that will help survive in harsh conditions. Together with the natives, Unity developer Bogdan Golub and 3D modeler Roman Vorontsov, three more authors will present the game at the finals, all five make up the DoubleDTeam team.
Yakut's idea was born during a 72-hour game jam from the "Start the Game" contest at the end of June 2024. The team reached the top 17 among 200 announced projects. Experts highly appreciated the potential of the game, and although it was not possible to achieve victory, the guys continued to develop. The next stage of success is the victory in the nomination "Regions and languages of Russia".
278 game projects were submitted for the third season of the All-Russian competition "Start the Game". For two weeks, experts assessed the quality and completeness of the presentation materials, the potential for the implementation of each project, compliance with the selected nomination, visual and technical execution.
As a result, the top 44 were selected - 11 of the most promising games in four main categories: "Family Games", "Regions and Languages of Russia", "Science, Education and Healthcare" and "Sports and Esports".
The finale of the third season of the Start the Game competition will be held from November 28 to December 2, 2024 as part of the Gaming Industry Week. The most ambitious game creators will meet in the Senezh Management Workshop.
The closing of the third season of the "Start the Game" competition of the presidential platform "Russia is a country of opportunities" and the solemn ceremony of awarding the winners will be held at the RED EXPO exhibition.
The total prize fund from VTB Bank in the amount of 1.6 million rubles will be distributed among the favorites of the four main nominations, the winners in the partner nominations will receive methodological, informational and expert support, as well as discounts on training and free professional development courses, tickets to specialized game dev events, championships, exhibitions and the opportunity to present their project at them.
