The issue of creating an International Technology Transfer Center for the implementation of scientific and technical achievements of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) in Xiamen (China) is being worked out within the framework of an agreement signed in 2023 between the university and the Department of Science and Technology of Xiamen.
The sides discussed areas of cooperation in the format of the Technology Transfer Center being created during the visit of a delegation of representatives of government, science and business of Xiamen to NSTU-NETI on November 12.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, Vasily Yanpolsky, First Vice-rector of NSTU-NETI, emphasized that an important feature of the university's development is the unity of science, education and the manufacturing sector, which will allow establishing promising areas of cooperation.
The scientific and innovative structure of the university, as well as strategic projects developed by the university within the framework of the academic leadership program "Priority 2030", were presented to the delegation by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Arthur Otto. "NSTU-NETI binds more than a hundred agreements on cooperation in the field of science, education and culture with universities and scientific organizations from more than 20 countries of the world. NSTU-NETI acts as the basic Russian university in the field of training "Energy" of the University of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, is a member of the Consortium of Universities exporting Russian Education, the Association of Technical Universities of Russia and China, the Association of Universities of the Eastern Regions of Russia and China," said Arthur Otto.
The director of the Department of Science and Technology of Xiamen, Kun Shuguang, presented the possibilities of the China-BRICS scientific and production incubation park opened in December 2023. Since its establishment, the incubation park has been conducting exchanges and developing cooperation with the BRICS countries and international organizations to explore ways of cooperation in the field of scientific and technological innovation and incubation.
The Chinese delegation got acquainted with the scientific infrastructure of NSTU-NETI, visiting the laboratory "Automation of Power Systems" of the Faculty of Energy, the testing laboratory of the engineering center "Energy Efficient Electromechanics and Mechatronics", the educational and scientific laboratory of automation of production mechanisms and the scientific laboratory of electric charging stations of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Automation, as well as the scientific laboratory of Biomedical Technologies of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology.
"During the visit of the Chinese delegation, the main areas of scientific and technical cooperation within the framework of the Technology Transfer Center being created in Xiamen were identified: electronics, energy, information technology and biomedicine. The next step will be to discuss the algorithm for selecting and transferring technologies for implementation in China," Arthur Otto summed up the meeting.
During the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of creating a joint educational program to train specialists in the field of commercialization of scientific developments and technologies in the international space.
