On October 15, a new educational project "Industrial Classes" was launched in the Novosibirsk Region, initiated by Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) together with leading companies in the region with the support of the Government of the Novosibirsk Region.
The project, which combines the efforts of secondary and higher schools and industry, is aimed at early professional orientation and in-depth specialized training of schoolchildren in key technical disciplines: physics, mathematics and computer science. The key feature of the new thematic classes is their focus on the real tasks of industrial partners: the S7 aviation company and the pharmaceutical manufacturing company Renewal.
The first industrial classes were opened at Lyceum No. 22 "Hope of Siberia" and secondary school No. 202. The pilot phase of the project will cover 56 students of the 10th grade.
Historically, NSTU-NETI has been building an integrated ecosystem of engineering personnel training since school. An important achievement in this work was the network of specialized engineering classes. "However, the opening of industrial classes is a qualitatively new stage in the development of pre—university education in our region. The project is being implemented jointly with leading industrial partners such as S7 Airlines and pharmaceutical company Renewal. This is an important strategic step for us: now we are not just introducing students to the university, but also immersing them in a specific production environment. Children have a unique opportunity to see their future employer at school, which will be a powerful motivator for in-depth study of physics and other disciplines. This takes career guidance to a fundamentally new level: students will build not only an educational, but also a career trajectory. Their projects will not be abstract, but practice-oriented, aimed at solving the real problems of partner companies. I am confident that this pilot project for the country will become a flagship in the formation of a new generation of engineers and will make a significant contribution to ensuring Russia's technological sovereignty," said Sergey Chernov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at NSTU-NETI, during the ceremonial launch of the Industrial Classes project.
The curriculum of industrial classes includes not only theoretical disciplines, but also special modules that will be conducted by teachers of NSTU-NETI, as well as workshops in production. On the basis of the university, in the center "House of Scientific Collaboration" and in the laboratories of NSTU-NETI, students will master thematic modules under the guidance of teachers and students, receiving the most modern engineering competencies. And the best of them will get the opportunity for targeted admission. Students will gain a unique experience by participating in excursions to enterprises and performing project work aimed at solving specific cases of partner companies. Students of the new industrial classes, in particular, had the opportunity to study the profession of an industrial pharmacist both in theory and in practice under the direct supervision of Renewal specialists.
"Industrial classes are a new format for training future specialists. Today we are on the verge of creating a unique educational ecosystem that unites schools, universities and employers. We strive to create a system in which each stage of learning is logically linked to the previous one. This will allow graduates to feel confident in a professional environment and quickly adapt to the requirements of modern production. This approach to education is not just learning, but an investment in the future of our children," said Maria Sazonova, HR Director at PFK Renewal.
In the future, the project is planned to be extended to other educational institutions in the Novosibirsk region.
