Scientists from Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) are carrying out commissioning work at the largest domestic enterprise for the production of packaging for milk and dairy products. The result of the joint activity of science and business will be the well-established production of eco-friendly toproll packaging.
Scientific developments of NSTU-NETI have become part of the production of PJSC Lambumiz, the largest enterprise for the production of packaging for dairy products. The partnership between the Novosibirsk university and the Moscow plant allowed the company to launch a production line for eco—friendly containers, an improved analogue of the well-known tetrapacks. Thanks to new technologies, toproll significantly increases the shelf life of products. In addition, it is easy to recycle — it allows you to make natural materials from which it is made.
The cooperation between NSTU-NETI, whose developments have made it possible to replace imported technologies in packaging production, and Lambumiz is a successful example of partnership. This was stated by Sergey Botvin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC Lambumiz, Director of the Technical Center of the enterprise, during a round table at the International Industrial Forum-Exhibition MasHexpo Siberia.
The joint work started two years ago, when the scientists of NSTU-NETI, together with the staff of Lambumiz, prepared a platform and equipment for printing a new type of packaging, which was previously imported from abroad. According to the Head of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial installations, Head of the Scientific Department Denis Kotin's NSTU-NETI, the management of the capital's enterprise, suggested that the university, as a scientific and engineering organization, go through the production process from scratch — with the installation of a special printing press and its maintenance.
"We performed full maintenance of the original model of the foreign—made printing press, examined each node, proposed our own solutions to optimize the operation of the equipment and launched it in 2023," said Denis Kotin.
Thanks to the modernization, the equipment at the Moscow plant prints packaging at a speed of about 180 meters per minute and applies creasing — cardboard folding lines — at a speed of 90 meters per minute, which is half the estimated capacity of the machine. In April, after the next stage of commissioning, which is also being carried out by NSTU-NETI, the printing machine will reach full capacity.
