"Notes of an ordinary infantryman" is a story about the war from the trench on behalf of a young soldier who went to the front on the eve of his 18th birthday and fought until the last day of the war. Readers will follow this path together with the author: Vladimir Vasilyevich Glitch fought from October 1943 to May 1945 on the Kalinin, 2nd Baltic, 1st Ukrainian fronts as part of the 379th and 275th infantry divisions. I walked from the Moscow region to Dresden. A machine gunner and a signalman. Wounded, concussed. Until 1948, he participated in the liquidation of Bandera followers and the OUN in Western Ukraine.
The book was published on the initiative and with the support of the NSTU-NETI Alumni Association in the year of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. As Vladimir Ponomarev, director of the NSTU-NETI Alumni Association, noted, five years ago the book was published in a small edition and it turned out that it was unique for Russia, since the book reflects the author's view of military operations from the trenches. "This year, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, we decided to organize a meeting with students and schoolchildren. Today we are presenting the book "Notes of an ordinary Infantryman" and giving it to all schools in Novosibirsk," said Vladimir Ponomarev.
"Over 600,000 people went to the front from the Novosibirsk region and more than 200,000 did not return. There is not a single family that has not known the severity of the war. And this must be remembered. And be proud of our ancestors who fought so that we could live under a peaceful sky. Guys, be worthy of the memory of your great—grandfathers and be proud of them!" said Vladimir Panarin, Chairman of the Novosibirsk Regional Veterans Organization.
Vladimir Vasilyevich Sboev spoke about everyday life at the front and about his work at NSTU-NETI. Then the war veteran signed gift editions of books, which will be transferred to school libraries in Novosibirsk and the region. At the end of the event, a joint photo of the veteran with schoolchildren was taken.
