The educational programs of Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) "Nanoengineering" and "Chemical Technologies" were selected within the framework of the national project "New Materials and Chemistry".
The Center for Advanced Training and Retraining of Qualified personnel in the field of new materials and Chemistry, as part of the federal project "Advanced training and retraining of qualified personnel in the field of new materials and chemistry", selected educational programs of higher education for their development (updating) and the implementation of academic mobility in the areas of training in the field of new materials and chemistry. The list of leading universities in the selection process, which was conducted at the National Research Tomsk State University, also includes NSTU-NETI.
The winners of the selection were the educational programs "Nanoengineering" by the head of the Research Laboratory of Physico-chemical Technologies and Functional Materials, Professor of the Department of Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering Ivan Bataev and "Chemical Technologies" - the latter was presented by the head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Candidate of Chemical Sciences Alexander Aparnev.
The Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials profile is being implemented as part of the Nanoengineering program. It is based on an integrated approach to the professional training of specialists in the field of nanoengineering and involves the study of the fundamental foundations of natural sciences and materials science, as well as modern methods of production and diagnostics of nanomaterials and nanoobjects in the chemical industry and electronics. Students of this field also study the basics of designing and documenting technological processes.
The Nanoengineering program has been significantly redesigned for the targeted training of specialists capable of solving the problems of biomaterial engineering and pharmaceutical chemistry. To improve the quality of training, the program includes 10 new disciplines, including such fundamental ones as biology, cell biology, immunology, biophysics and biochemistry, as well as materials science of medicines.
According to Ivan Bataev, the main idea of the project is to modify the educational program so that NSTU-NETI graduates can maximize their potential at leading enterprises engaged in the development of biomaterials and pharmaceutical technologies, which are among the most promising and dynamically developing scientific fields.
"The ecosystem of biomaterials and pharmaceutical technologies is rapidly developing across the country. Enterprises such as JSC "Industrial Pharmaceutical Company Renewal" (Renewal trademark), as well as many companies belonging to the Biopharm association, operate only in Siberia, and they all need qualified specialists. Some of our graduates are already working there, but with the new educational programs, we hope their number will increase," said the scientist. He added that the training under the new program starts with the new academic year.
Students of the profile "Chemical technologies of functional materials" study the issues of chemistry and chemical technology of materials for various functional purposes, methods and methods of creating new materials widely used in industry. Students participate in project activities and undergo various types of internships at institutes of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and at industrial enterprises in the Novosibirsk region.
Alexander Aparnev noted that the mission of the educational program is to train highly qualified bachelors with modern scientific and engineering competencies for effective operation in the context of technological modernization of the Novosibirsk region industry.
"The program focuses on the formation of graduates with systemic knowledge and practical skills necessary for the development, implementation and optimization of innovative methods for obtaining, processing and analyzing substances and materials. Special attention is paid to the integration of fundamental scientific principles, interdisciplinary approaches and advanced educational technologies with the real tasks of regional production, which contributes to the development of human resources in knowledge-intensive industries and sustainable technological progress in the region," he stressed.
Training under the updated programs starts from the new academic year, 2026/2027.
