This year, applicants can submit documents for admission through the personal account of the official website of the University or using the service "Enroll in higher education online" on the public services website gosuslugi.ru.
"The main feature of the 2020 admission campaign is that this year only online format is available for submitting documents. Last year, about 30 % of applicants submitted documents remotely, this year it is already a mandatory rule: 100 % of applicants will submit documents electronically. The method that has been used by our University for a long time is to submit documents through the applicant's personal account on the University official website", comments Zoya Sergeeva, head of the Information Policy Department, NSTU NETI.
The process is controlled at all stages: the applicant must register on the website at the applicant's personal account, submit the necessary documents: an identity document, information about education and the results of the Unified State Examination. Within 3 to 5 days, the applicant will receive a response from the admissions Committee: an email notification stating that the documents have been accepted. If there are problems, for example, the applicant needs to specify the data of some missing documents, the applicants will also receive a request for the additional information.
You can submit documents using the "Enroll in University online" service on the public services portal gosuslugi.ru. This is a new document submission service which will be used by 53 universities including NSTU NETI for the first time this year. The applicant will be able to enter gosuslugi.ru, choose the service and send documents to any of the 53 universities.
"Since this program is being implemented for the first time, you can only submit your documents through the gosuslugi.ru portal when applying for state-funded majors. If you plan to enroll in a tuition fee majors or want to study for a fee if you were not enrolled for a state-funded major, you will have to submit your documents through the applicant's personal account on the NSTU NETI website. If you submit documents through the gosuslugi.ru website, you will automatically create a personal account on the NSTU NETI website, so that you can track the competition situation or submit your documents to enrollment on a fee majors," says Oleg Avrunev, Director of the University's Informatization Center.
Foreign citizens, disabled people, graduates of vocational schools and colleges can enroll in NSTU NETI by passing internal exams based on the University materials. This year, all entrance exams will be conducted in the online testing format. Applicants will take their exams at home. To do this, they need a computer with Internet access, a webcam and a microphone.
"Online document submitting has been available at NSTU NETI for 10 years, and, of course, we will keep it. But the entire online admissions campaign – entrance tests and documents submissions – is being held across the country for the first time. Most likely, in the future, we will keep the opportunity to take entrance tests online for those who find it difficult to come to us. Regarding the remote submission of documents in the future, everything depends on the Ministry of Education and Science position," says Oleg Avrunev.
In order to apply for the entrance exams, you must also register at your personal account on the University's website, skipping the tab with the results of the Unified State Examination, but specifying in the "NSTU Exams" tab that you will pass the entrance tests based on the NSTU NETI materials.
"We plan to keep the online format for submitting documents not only this year. This method of admission will be in use for a long period, because it is convenient and has already been practiced for several years. We support the position of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education on the need to conduct an admission campaign online. This is more effective and safer than standing in queues, which occur especially in the last days of the admission campaign, " comments Zoya Sergeeva.
You can register in the personal account of the applicant on the NSTU NETI website now. It is not possible to apply for internal entrance exams, this can be done in the first half of June. The launch date of the "Enroll in University online" service is still unknown. The admission campaign in Russia will begin on June 20.
In accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation dated April 3, 2020 No. 547 "On the admission to higher education educational programs (bachelor's programs, specialist's programs, master's programs, training programs for scientific and pedagogical personnel and postgraduate studies for the 2020/2021 academic year", documents are accepted exclusively in remote format.
