The sixtieth anniversary of the first issue of the newspaper Energia — the oldest printed publication of Novosibirsk State Technical University — will be celebrated on December 16.
In the sixties of the XX century, the newspaper was the official publication of the party committee, the trade union committee, the Komsomol committee, and the NETI rectorate. Since 1991, it has been the newspaper of the university staff, and since 1995 it has received the status of a student newspaper.
"Energia" wrote about NETI' s life: the latest news, student problems, and a chronicle of events. Let us scroll through the archive pages and see how the Natives lived (that's what the NETI students called themselves in the sixties).
“Energia" was the brainchild of student wall newspapers and the forerunner of the university' s group on social networks, where students could share their problems, express wishes, and post notes about the institute’ s everyday life. Who was noticed with a cheat sheet, how the group passed the session, and tips for studying and concentration are only a small part of what can be seen on the old pages.
The NETI newspaper was not only an informational, but also an entertainment publication. One of the most popular strips is cartoons with humorous captions, now called memes. Satire and humor helped to draw attention to topical issues.
"Energia" published notes and photo reports about the daily routine of students: how are the tests going, who has the best dorm rooms (the most cozy and clean) and other events of university life.
Today's "Energy" is the result of the work and talents of the team of the student media center "Yezhmedia" of NSTU - NETI. On every page, in every illustration and photo, the voices of the students are heard: their ideas, problems, and victories. This newspaper is a reflection of the academic and extracurricular life of more than 13 thousand people of the National Army.
