Construction of a dormitory for students of the Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI has begun. Two tower blocks, united by an elevated covered passage, will appear on Prospekt Karla Marksa, 300 meters from the metro station Studencheskaya.
The fence between the construction pool of NSTU NETI and the dormitory No. 2 was set at the beginning of winter. The 0.8-hectare plot is divided into two sites: a pit has already been dug and wells are being drilled (video) under the pile foundation.
The Novosibirsk mayor's office granted a license for the construction of a dormitory of two buildings to NSTU NETI at the end of October last year. It is active till June 2022. The document reports one building will have 16 floors, and the second 12 floors. The first is designed for 450 people and the second for 340. The total area of the two buildings will be 20,000 square meters. The project was developed by the Tomsk Architectural and Design Bureau Dias.
The cost of construction was estimated at 1.2 billion rubles. The dormitory is planned to set into operation in three years.
