Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) has joined the Consortium "Development of Russian Transport Engineering". The agreement was signed by Alexander Pikalov, Chairman of the Consortium Council, Deputy Director of the Travel Equipment Division of the Sinara — Transport Machines Holding, Deputy General Director of the RPM Group, and Anatoly Bataev, Rector of NSTU-NETI.
The signing ceremony occured within the framework of the Scientific and Technical Council on the implementation of the Rail Grinding Train 2.0 project at the Siberian State University of Railway Engineering (NIIZHT) in Novosibirsk.
"Since the beginning of 2023, Novosibirsk State Technical University has been actively cooperating with the consortium members to develop power electronics for innovative travel vehicles of the RPM Group. In particular, representatives of NGTU-NETI have developed documentation for a control cabinet to demonstrate an exhibition stand with equipment for the rail grinding train RSHP 2.0 — a prototype profiling grinding trolley, the presentation of which occurred at the exhibition "Pro//Movement.EXPO" in St. Petersburg. The new RSHP 2.0 rail grinding train will be able to perform rail grinding at speeds of 15 km/h and above, which will ensure an increase in the productivity of rail grinding operations by at least 2.5 times. We are confident in further constructive cooperation with colleagues from NSTU-NETI," said Alexander Pikalov.
"The enterprises of the STM holding and the Sinara Group are conducting high-level developments for the production of track equipment and rolling stock. At the same time, the company identifies NSTU-NETI as a leading university in the competencies of "electrical engineering" and "power electronics". The entry of our university into the consortium "Development of Russian Transport Engineering" is mutually beneficial for both sides: for the university, it is the implementation of specialized research/R&D on the topics of "electrical engineering" and "power electronics", for the enterprises of the Sinara Group it is the introduction of the results of developments into manufactured railway equipment and strengthening their advanced positions as a manufacturer," the rector believes NSTU-NETI Anatoly Bataev.
Recall that the agreement on the creation of the Consortium "Development of Russian Transport Engineering", which included enterprises of the Sinara Group, Ural Federal University (UrFU), Ural State University of Railway Engineering (UrGUPS), and Siberian State University of Railway Engineering (NIIZHT), was signed at the international industrial exhibition INNOPROM-2023. The agreement was concluded as part of the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Transport Engineering in the Russian Federation until 2030. Later, the Far Eastern State University of railway Engineering joined the consortium. The consortium's activities are aimed at creating innovative rolling stock using exclusive technological solutions.
