Novosibirsk students received Russian Academy of Sciences medals at the Presidium of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences.
The competitions for the RAS medals with prizes for young scientists and students are annually held in 19 main research areas of natural sciences, technology and humanities. Its goal is to find and support talented young researchers. Last year three students of Novosibirsk universities were among the winners, but due to coronavirus pandemic restrictions they received their awards only now.
Kristina Grishina, Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI postgraduate of Physical Engineering Faculty, is awarded for her construction project of the shared research center SKIF (Siberian Synchrotron Radiation Source). She analyzed the regular accelerating structures of the SKIF injector linear accelerator.
"Each accelerator contains several regular accelerating sections, SKIF is planned to have six. But the last preprint (the document describing it) was made 30 years ago. Since then, in fact, there was no stand to measure the actual data of operating conditions. Now I am a part of a group creating such a stand and I received a medal for it," Kristina Grishina said.
Vladislav Ivashchenko, NSU student (now a postgraduate of Faculty of Physics), received the award for his research work "Impact of characteristic scales in variable density turbulent jets". Alexander Lukin, SSTU student of Faculty of Computer Science in Economics, also received the award for his work "Efficiency evaluation of a large-scale project on the example of the Circumpolar Highway".
