The student of NSTU NETI is a silver prize winner of the Russian Chess Championship among people with special health needs and a member of the Russian national team.
On April 20 — 30, the Russian Championship among people with special health needs (the musculoskeletal system disabilities) was held in Sovietsk city (Kaliningrad Oblast).
Thirty-four contestants from 19 regions of the country took part in the tournament. The tournament was held in 9 rounds according to the Swiss system using separate scoring for men and women. The Novosibirsk Oblast was represented by Maria Dorozhkina, a student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, candidate for Master of Sport in Chess, who was second in the individual competition among women and joined the Russian national team.
International master Roman A. Popov and Alexei S. Dolgov, a deputy dean of Faculty of Business, training and sports health center coach, candidate for Master of Sport prepared the chess player for the competition.
