Sergey Gladyshev, a student of the Faculty of Automation and Computer Engineering of the Novosibirsk State Technical University, NETI, is developing software to determine the optimal capacity of batteries used in fire safety systems. The author of the project received a grant in the amount of 1 million rubles for the development of his business idea within the framework of the Student Startup competition in the nomination "Resource-saving energy".
"In accordance with the requirements of the legislation, a backup power supply must be provided in the fire safety system, which allows for uninterrupted operation during the day. Batteries are used to solve this problem. Despite this, to date there are no methodological materials for calculating the characteristics of batteries in terms of their operating time. The program being developed will allow calculating the optimal characteristics of batteries for a specific fire safety system, and for their manufacturers it will serve as a guideline for calculating the cost," said project developer Sergey Gladyshev.
According to him, the approach is to take the specific operating parameters of fire safety systems and use them to calculate the exact value of the battery. The cost of batteries is directly proportional to their capacity, and therefore there is a need for accurate calculations of characteristics that will optimize equipment costs. The project is aimed at companies that are engaged in the design of fire safety systems. The program being developed will allow us to provide the customer with a more profitable fire safety system project.
"Now a stand is being developed for conducting experiments that will simulate the energy consumption of a fire safety system. It is planned to use different types of batteries for conducting experiments. The results will be used to create a model that will form the basis of the software," Sergey Gladyshev added.
The project was prepared with the consulting support of the Novosibirsk Regional Innovation Fund, the regional operator of the Innovation Promotion Fund.
