"Modern genetic research cannot be conducted without substantial support of mathematicians and programmers. Huge amounts of data need to be processed and analyzed. There is a research group in the field of data analysis and experiments planning as well as successful experience in creating software products for such tasks at our Faculty. We also train specialists to work with large amounts of data," says Vladimir Timofeev, FAMI Dean.
The main purpose of the agreement is to implement the plans of Novosibirsk Oblast government to create a center of genetic technologies which is approved by the regional government to be included in the development plan of the Novosibirsk scientific center. The project of the center for genetic technologies at ICG, SB RAS was approved by the government of Novosibirsk Oblast within "Akademgorodok 2.0" development project of Novosibirsk scientific center.
