On May 26, 2021, a series of events dedicated to the Translation Teacher Day began at 08:00, Moscow time. The teleconference was very fruitful! We are hugely grateful to everyone who fit the meeting into their schedule, found time in a series of classes, credits, state exams and other fuss of the term's end!
We "drove" 9726 km (according to the map). From Minsk State Linguistic University (MSLU), Minsk, we instantly moved to Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), Vladivostok, and from there we visited Reshetnev Siberian State University of Science and Technology, Krasnoyarsk, NSTU NETI, Novosibirsk, South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk and reached National University of Science and Technology MISiS, Moscow. Though we came across certain "breakdowns" and connection was not at all stable at times, this did not spoil the festive mood.
The purpose of the teleconference was to connect representatives of different universities involved in the translators training, to give an opportunity to exchange their findings, to draw an analogy and to identify specific issues of subjects and methods of translators training. And we succeeded! Each university showed something very interesting and unique. During the free discussion, we established new contacts and outlined events for further cooperation.
The organizer is NSTU NETI's Foreign Languages Department for Humanities. We thank all the participants and encourage them to meet again.
