The device is designed to play video, audio, and image files. Video and audio files can be played simultaneously with the LED backlight.
The project was carried out in the NSTU NETI Prototyping Center as a part of the project work in 2019-2020. The authors of the project are students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technologies, NSTU NETI: Nikita Korneev, Valentina Sushkova, Vladimir Kulikov, Ilya Ishutin, Artem Ilyin and Alexey Vinogradov. Their mentor is Dmitry Terentyev, Associate Professor at the Department of Materials Science in Mechanical Engineering, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering).
The product design was carried out in the software package SolidWorks 2019-2020. The design of the structure is made in the Sci-Fi style. The body parts are made of aluminum alloy D16T on lathe and milling machining centers manufactured by DMG Mori (Germany).
The multifunctional LED complex consists of an LED multimedia system and a platform. The system is 23 cm wide, 21 cm long, 37.5 cm high and weighs 4.25 kg. The platform is able to adjust the frequency and direction of rotation. The platform is 19 cm wide, 19 cm long, 6.7 cm high and weighs 2.25 kg.
The multifunctional LED complex is equipped with self-contained lithium-polymer batteries and can work without recharging for up to 4 hours. Built-in batteries provide power to the internal components of the complex with an operating voltage of 5 and 12 V.
There are various devices built in inside the case: a night light with a motion sensor, an air recirculator with touch control, a projector, an audio system, an audio frequency spectrum, an RGB backlight.
LED and multimedia devices are controlled via Bluetooth technology. Special apps installed on the smartphone help to change the brightness, the color and the mode of the LED strips. Video, audio, and image files are played back when the smartphone is wirelessly connected to stereo speakers or a projector.
The multifunctional LED complex is easily moved and transported owing of its compact dimensions. The possibility of long-term autonomous operation allows using the complex for recreation and entertainment.
