On November 21–25, the 1st Open Individual Chess Championship IPCA for the Disabled, Rapid and Blitz 2019 was held in Torrevieja (Spain). The tournament was attended by 22 players from India, Spain, China, Israel, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Germany. In the sports category “Girls under 20”, Maria Dorozhkina, a first year student of the Physical Engineering Faculty, NSTU NETI, won the Blitz.
Maria was the second in Blitz among women as well. In competitions in Rapid category Maria was also second and won the third place in the nomination "Girls under 20".
Maria Dorozhkina is a member of the Russian national team, a Candidate Master of Russia, a female master of FIDE.
The chess player trains in the Grandmaster Pavel Maletin chess school at NSTU NETI. Maria was prepared by the International Master Roman Popov for the World Cup.
