Physical Engineering
The Faculty of Physical Engineering was founded in 1966. Since then the Faculty has been actively developing and training specialists in nuclear physics and nuclear technologies, laser and quantum technologies, photonics, oil and gas engineering and geophysics.
One of the main features of the faculty is advanced language training: FTF is the only technical faculty of NSTU, where students study a foreign language throughout the entire period of study.
Here, as well as in the whole university, attention is paid to practice-oriented learning. From the 3rd year students get experience of research work on unique equipment in real laboratories of research institutes of Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences and in technopark of Akademgorodok.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology is unique in that it trains in the specialty “Cinematography”, where not just professors, but honored artists, winners of various international competitions teach. NSTU is one of 5 universities in Russia, where there is such an educational program.
