Profile: Materials Research with Synchrotron, Neutron and Electronic Methods
The study of the internal structure of materials is one of the main tasks in materials science, chemistry, condensed state physics and many other branches of science and technology. The structure of all materials, whether mass-produced in industry or synthesized in small quantities in scientific laboratories, requires study at various scales. A variety of scientific instruments, including electron microscopes, spectrometers, and diffractometers, are widely used for this purpose. The educational program “Materials Research with Synchrotron, Neutron and Electron Techniques” places great emphasis on the study of both traditional and the most advanced techniques for investigating the structure and properties of materials.
