Over 20 years more than 1,200 tourism specialists have graduated from NSTU. The university have gained a significant experience in training foreign students in the tourism field. Since 2005 NSTU is a scientific, methodological and practical platform for the development of tourism and excursion business. What makes tourism education at the university so unique is its close relationships with key participants in the tourism market, including the Novosibirsk Association of Tourist Organizations, the Siberian Tourism Analytical Center "STI", the Siberian Academy of Tourism, hotels and tourist complexes in Russia and abroad.
“Tourism Business Management” program includes studying the specifics of the tourism business management system at the national level with the opportunity to analyze financial mechanisms of the tourism industry. The program ensures that students form a systematic approach to the modern structure of the tourism industry, study existing and develop new methods and technologies for tourism complex management, learn to make effective management decisions.
The educational program is topical, innovative, and practice-oriented. It aims to prepare the new generation of specialists, active and competitive leaders, who are familiar with international management practices and have analytical skills in entrepreneurial activity.
Students study strategic management and marketing in tourism, tourism and recreational design, design of excursion activities, tourism resources of Russia and Siberia, tourism economics, legal aspects of tourism, consumer psychology, etc.
The program uses the best worldwide techniques and up-to-date education technologies, including case study, management role-playing trainings, intellectual, creativity and critical thinking classes. Students have an opportunity to learn from the high-class practitioners, specialists from the tourism field and representatives of the authorities. The program offers internship in the largest tourist companies and complexes in the region, including Novosibirsk and Kemerovo, Altai Krai and the Altai Republic
Graduates of the program are in demand in Russian and international companies in the tourism industry, government tourism authorities, regional tourism administrations, and leading tour operating companies.
