The exhibition "Titans of electricity" is dedicated to world's scientists who have made discoveries in electricity and thermal energy.
Portraits of Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, Michael Faraday, Sadi Carnot, James Watt, Antoine Becquerel, Heinrich Hertz, Andre-Marie Ampere, Alessandro Volta, as well as Mikhail Dolivo-Dobrovolsky, Pavel Yablochkov and other scientists are displayed at NSTU NETI EnergyClass, a modern educational platform for 10 and 11 grades schoolers. The aim of the project is to introduce students to scientists and their work: each portrait contains a capture related to the area of the scientist's work. For example, the portrait of Georg Ohm has an inscription "Resist laziness!" as he made a discovery in the area of electrical resistance.
"We remembered that back at school we had portraits of scholars above the blackboard, and decided to implement a similar project at University. But we redefined it: we added different design elements to the portraits and came up with sayings connected with the scientists' field of research. We want these sayings to motivate students who study in the EnergyClass, NSTU NETI", comments Anastasia Zhdanovich, one of the project's authors, Associate Professor of the Industrial Power Supply Systems Department, NSTU NETI.
Pavel Rozhdestvensky, a 2nd-year student of the Business Faculty, designed the portraits. The project was implemented as part of an Educational session based at the NSTU NETI EnergyClass.
