The IX Open Regional Championship "Young Professionals (WorldSkills Russia)" was held from February 13 to 18, 2022.
WorldSkills is an international non-profit movement whose goal is to increase the prestige of working professions and the development of vocational education by harmonizing best practices and professional standards around the world through the organization and holding of professional skill competitions both in a country and in the world as a whole.
The WorldSkills Championships are held every two years in various countries, they are attended by both young skilled workers, university and college students under the age of 22, as well as well-known professionals, specialists, masters of industrial training, and mentors - as experts evaluating the performance of the task.
In February 2022, the three-day’s competition was held at the Novosibirsk College of Electronics and Computer Engineering.
Andrey Sergeev, a student of the Institute of Social Technologies of NSTU NETI, took part in the championship for the first time and won in the competence "Development of computer games and multimedia applications".
According to Yulia Sergeevna Cherepanova, the teacher of the Department of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, it was the first time a 2nd year student was sent to the competition. Previously, only 3rd-year students took part in WorldSkills.
The IST Directorate congratulates the winner and expresses gratitude to the ITCE department for the high-quality training of the contestant.
