Students of the Novosibirsk State Technical University, NETI, Yaroslav Sobeshchikov, Danil Mishchenko, Ksenia Schneider, and Maxim Valyaev received one million rubles at the Student Startup competition for the development of software for customer recognition. The competition was held within the framework of the federal project "Platform of University technological entrepreneurship".
The project uses software that classifies people by appearance and offers a product for a specific person using a recommendation system. The technology is based on trained models for gender and age recognition.
"We are solving the problem of insufficient consideration of the individual characteristics of customers. The development is intended for retail, large- and medium- sized businesses in the field of sales, shopping centers, large grocery stores, shoe stores, sporting goods stores, and others," Yaroslav Sobeschikov shared.
According to him, the introduction of online technologies will help sellers increase the volume of offline sales using the technology of individual targeted advertising.
"Our PromoPro team participated in a hackathon from Reactor NSTU NETI to generate project ideas in the IT field, where we came up with an idea related to the offline personalization of an advertising offer. While participating in the NSTU Reactor Accelerator, we decided to apply for the Student Startup competition of the Innovation Promotion Foundation. The attempt was the first and successful. The grant received will allow us to bring the project to the MVP stage and purchase computing resources and equipment," Yaroslav Sobeschikov added.
The project was prepared with the consulting support of the Novosibirsk Regional Innovation Fund, which is the regional operator of the Innovation Promotion Fund.
