Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI will supervise the creation of specialized engineering classes of aircraft construction in 2022–2023 in the Novosibirsk Oblast. Teachers and students of the university will be involved in teaching specialized aircraft engineering disciplines and in advanced training of teachers.
In pursuance of the Russian Federation's President instruction of 2022, aircraft engineering classes are being created in general education organizations located in the Novosibirsk Oblast. A joint meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Education of the region, the university and schools of Novosibirsk dedicated to the launch of the project was held on May 30 at NSTU NETI.
"Novosibirsk State Technical University has been chosen as a basic regional university (as well as a partner Galashchuk Novosibirsk Aviation Technical College) in order to attract teachers, including those among university students, to improve the qualifications of teachers in additional general education programs, to assist in organizing and conducting career guidance events for aircraft classes, " the Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk Oblast reported.
Students and teachers of the university and college will be involved in the implementation of the programs Individual Project, Aircraft Engineer and others in Aircraft modeling, Unmanned aircraft systems, 3D-modeling in aviation classes.
Sergey Chernov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of NSTU NETI, said that Daria Borovikova, head of the Department of Pre-university Education and Enrollment, will supervise the project from the university, three experts from the Aircraft Faculty are included in the commission for evaluating applications of schools participating in the competition.
"We will definitely participate and interact most closely with aircraft engineering classes. Moreover, we are forming an aircraft manufacturing cluster, which includes the Chkalov Novosibirsk Aviation Plant, Aviation Lyceum, Aviation Technical College and NSTU NETI. Within the forming consortium, the school is a link that naturally complements and develops the ideas of early career guidance and the project of training highly qualified personnel for aviation enterprises within the concept "school — technical school — university — enterprise," said Sergey Chernov.
According to the Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk Oblast, aircraft construction classes are created as a continuous training system for the aviation industry. Industrial partners are planned to support schools where aircraft construction classes will be opened. Cooperation with production companies involves installing the equipment in classrooms and organizing career guidance events: excursions, workshops and lectures on aviation topics from industry specialists.
