At the end of April, the student business incubator (SBI) "Garage" hosted the First hackathon on "smart clothes". The partners of the hackathon were Novosibirsk Oblast Innovation Fund; the regional "Work Group–2035" of the WearNet NTI 2.0 market, NTI branch of Kosygin Russian State University; Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts (NSUADA) and the Novosibirsk branch of “OPORA RUSSIA”.
An initiative work group was formed in Novosibirsk to develop innovative technological solutions for the WearNet market. The hackathon is a continuation of the systematic work on launching innovative projects and startups for the NTI market.
The roadmap for the implementation of the National Technological Initiative in Novosibirsk Oblast, approved on 23.03.2021 by I. V. Manuilova, the Deputy Governor of the region, includes hackathons as priority areas to create conditions for the training of highly qualified specialists in the NTI areas.
The tasks of the hackathon on "smart" clothing were stated at the request of the WearNet market work group participants and aimed at developing technological and constructive solutions and selecting materials in three directions:
- "Smart clothes" with climate control (WINTER);
- "Smart clothes" with heat relief;
- "Smart clothes" with climate control for wheelchair users.

Pishchinskaya, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate professor, Deputy Director of Research and Informatization, Head of the Department of Design of the Kosygin Russian State University; N. A. Maslov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics SB RAS; A. Ivlev, acting instructor, head of the NSO Mountaineering Federation; S. Ledzhiev, serial entrepreneur, founder of the startup "Smart watch for children with autism" were expert consultants for the student teams of the hackathon.
At the end of the hackathon, each team chose the basis for a technological and design solution and worked out the concept of a "smart clothes" with specified functional characteristics. At the hackathon there were 9 interuniversity teams formed by students of NSTU NETI, NTI branch of Kosygin Russian State University, NSUADA:

- Smartlongsleeve,
- FlyDigital.
The commission of the hackathon included: deputy. E. V. Proforuk, director of the Novosibirsk Oblast Innovation Fund; E. S. Gorevaya, Associate Professor, head of SBI "Garage" NSTU NETI; E. I. Gluzdakova, chairman of the Development Committee of the joint venture “OPORA RUSSIA’s”; L. B. Mozheikina, Associate Professor of Institute of Social Technology, Vice-rector for Educational Work of NSTU NETI; A. I. Rusakova, head of the "Laboratory of Innovative Design", member of the working group of the NTI market WearNet; I. V. Vershinina, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate professor, Department Chairman of TKSHI NTI in Russian State University named after A. N. Kosygin; M. S. Ledova, the head of the NSUADA Technopark. At the end of the hackathon the commission evaluated the projects developed by the interuniversity teams.
The expert commission decided that the winners of the hackathon on "smart clothes" were:
- Cyber life — clothes for wheelchair users with transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation;
- V-good — stockings with thermal control for wheelchair users;
- Art Station CEEMA — a smart thermal underwear for polar explorers.
All participants of the hackathon received certificates, and the winners received diplomas and prizes.
All projects received an invitation to prepare an application for the second wave of the "Student Startup" competition with the help of the SBI "Garage". A project of an acceleration program for the participants of the hackathon on "smart clothes" is being prepared together with the Novosibirsk Oblast Innovation Fund.
