International Economic Symposium "Integration of Siberia into the Global Socio-Economic Space" was held on October 17-19. The organizers of the symposium are the Free Economic Society, the Siberian General Directorate of the Bank of Russia and National Research Tomsk State University.
The symposium included round tables dedicated to the provisions for the sustainable development of Siberian macro-region economy, improvement of Siberians' standard of living and quality of life and the role of universities in these processes. There were public lectures on income inequality in different countries and regional peculiarities of solving social and economic development problems in Siberia in view of modern challenges. NSTU NETI researchers Alexey Chuvaev, Irina Dolgikh and Ekaterina Korolkova, Management Department, Lean Laboratory "Processes Factory", presented a report "Lean production as a tool to achieve strategic goals to increase labor productivity in the region” at the plenary session "Macroregion Siberia: problems of sustainable development of the economy and ensuring sustainable well-being of the population". Victoria Vinichenko, PhD (Economics) Associate Professor of Management Department took part at the plenary session "Transformation of models of modern universities and their role in the sustainable development of territories" reporting on "Transformation of universities reputation capital in modern conditions".
Professor Irina B. Adova, Doctor of Sciences (Economics) NSTU NETI Management Department, was the expert speaker at the panel discussion "Ensuring the sustainable improvement of the level and quality of life of Siberia population".
The administration of the National Research Tomsk State University (Georgiy. V. Mayer, President; E. V. Galazhinsky, Rector; Evgenia Nekhoda, Head of Economics and Management Institute, TSU) welcomed the participants of "Integration of Siberia into the Global Socio-Economic Space" Symposium.
The first round table of Symposium was entitled "Changes in the nature of work and factors of human socio-economic activity". The event was attended by the representatives of the Department of Labour and employment of the Tomsk region. (S. N.Gruznych, A.B. Gomozova, L.A. Kudashkina), the Head of "Institute of Advanced Educational Technologies" REC (E.A. Drugova, Assistant Director of the Institute of Business Process Management and Economics of the Siberian Federal University (I.S. Bagdasaryan), the Head of Organizational Behavior and Personnel Management Department of Saint Petersburg Graduate School of Management (E.K. Zavyalova), representatives of Economics and Management Institute, TSU and representatives of NSTU NETI (I.B. Adova, I. V. Dolgikh).
Open lectures were held on the 17th and 18th of October:
Gianluca Grimalda (Ph.D, Expert of Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Germany/Kiel Institut für Weltwirtschaft reported on: "Income Inequality and Preferences for Redistribution": Experimental Evidence from Norway, Germany, Italy, the USA and Papua New Guinea. Grimalda himself describes his sphere of interests: "I am an economist-experimenter who is interested in the psychological and cultural foundations of human cooperation, especially in the international context". Gianluca Grimalda participated in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Trustlab project, was in charge of experimental research in Colombia and Papua New Guinea. He chaired the working group on "Social cohesion and global inequality" topic in the Think20 network.
Valeriy A. Kryukov (Doctor of Economics, Corresponding Member of RAS, Director of the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering SB RAS, Novosibirsk) reported on: "Peculiarities of solving the problems of social and economic development of Siberia in view of modern challenges".
Mikhael Shteinbock (independent financial consultant, founder and the head of the consulting group "Masterskaya Semeynikh Finansov" ("Family Finance Workshop")) presentation was “From financial literacy to financial culture. Practical aspects of personal finance management".
The Symposium ended with the student case-championship final on the development of the investment project business plan for OOO "Agroindustrial Park Kolyvan" on October 19.
