International Relations and Regional Study Department, NSTU NETI, hosted Russian-Japanese Summer School.
Students attended classes both at Engineering Lyceum and NSTU, participated in various cultural events. The study of the Russian language and culture continued after classes, as guests from Japan lived in the families of Russian schoolchildren and students who study Japanese. The delegation of schoolchildren visited NSTU where they had a meeting with NSTU NETI International Department representatives, a tour around the University and our Library in Japanese, a Japanese lesson, as well as free communication with students majoring in the Japanese language and culture. The students discussed the topics of popular professions among young people in Japan and Russia as well as the problems faced by today's youth in both countries.
As their first impressions, Japanese guests noted beautiful buildings in Novosibirsk, many shopping centers, delicious Russian cuisine and welcoming attitude to the visitors in the city. Hopefully, this visit will be another step in the development of bilateral relations between Russia and Japan, both on intercultural and interpersonal levels.
