On the 8th of October the PJSC “VimpelKom” (Beeline) announced the second stage of the program “Big Data Laboratory”. The program is aimed at training Master of Science students majoring in programming and big data analysis at Novosibirsk State University (NSU), Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), and Siberian State University of Telecommunication and Information Sciences (SibSUTIS).
21 students of the leading universities of Novosibirsk were chosen for participating in the program “Big Data Laboratory”. The candidates passed three stages of selection: video interview, business games and an individual interview with the heads of the Big Data Beeline. Seven applicants were competing for one position.
The program provides studying the software for the big data processing; the systems of big data transmission, storage and protection; IT projects management and English for Professional Purposes. The training is free. Beeline offers special scholarships to the students and plans to employ the best graduates.

The project “Big Data Laboratory” was founded with the participation of the Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk region. Three universities take part in this project: NSU, NSTU and SibSUTIS. The ordering party is the PJSC “VimpelKom”. The company placed the order for the up-to-date Masters’ training with the universities. The A.P. Ershov Institute of Informatics Systems of the SB RAS is responsible for the field practice supervision, and “Aris” - the State Autonomous Institution of the Novosibirsk region “Aris” is the project coordinator and provider of the communication platform.
The issue of initiating educational programs for undergraduates, graduates and specialists on the basis of NSTU and the Institutes of SB RAS, which meet the Beeline specific needs became the part of the cooperation agreement between SB RAS and the PJSC ‘VimpelKom”. The agreement was signed in the framework of the forum “Technoprom-2018”.
