Novosibirsk State Technical University has become the third among Siberian Universities in the number of students enrolled in 2018. This was proved by the data of the monitoring on the quality of admission to Russian Universities held by the Higher School of Economics and Yandex in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science at the end of 2018. The total number of the students enrolled in NSTU in 2018 amounts to 3116.
The first place among Siberian Universities holds Siberian Federal University. The second is Tyumen State University.
NSTU is the fourth among the Universities situated across the Urals. On such a vast territory Siberian Federal University is the first, Far East Federal University is the second, and Tyumen State University is the third. NSTU holds the 22nd place among all Russian Universities. At the top of the rating are the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (Moscow), National Research University ‘Higher School of Economics’ and Kazan Federal University.
At the end of the year the Minister of Higher Education and Science Mikhail Kotjukov and the Rector of Higher School of Economics Yaroslav Kuzminov presented the full version of the findings received through the survey of the 2018 admission campaigns in Russian Universities. The survey also covered fee paying-basis students, branches of the universities and non-governmental universities. The last two categories have been monitored for the first time, which allows to acquire better understanding of the key factors of Russian Higher Education development.
The monitoring results are crucially important for the school leavers in choosing the University to apply. They also reflect Universities’ prestige and importance of individual programs, as well as indicate the trends in admission campaigns classified according to the following groups: region, programs, program costs and quality of applicants.
