On February 8, NSTU NETI students will return to full-time training in accordance with the Ministry of Education and Science order signed by Valery Falkov. This decision was conditioned by the epidemiological situation in the regions.
The order commands all Russian higher education institutions administered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to resume full-time training with the approval of the local Rospotrebnadzor (Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) offices.
From February 8, full-time and part-time students of NSTU NETI will start training in the usual mode at bachelor's, specialist’s and master's degree programs as well as at postgraduate studies. Nonresident students are offered a choice of the training format in the spring semester through their personal account to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological wellbeing. For example, a student can stay at home for distance learning or return to Novosibirsk to attend classes. Students at distance learning will attend broadcast lectures and teachers will offer a format for conducting practical classes and laboratory work.
Employees, students and visitors of the university will have to comply with the face mask requirements. Everyone present at the university must wear face masks except for a lecturer. In addition, the university provides for voluntary vaccination of employees against the COVID-19 virus.
"NSTU NETI took care of the students and employees health and created the safe conditions for staying at the university. Now our premises are equipped with air recyclers; those coming into and leaving the buildings move separately; there are disinfectant automatic dispensers at the entrance and bottled ones in the toilets; there are provisions for more frequent cleaning and ventilation of the premises. At the entrance to the buildings, special control systems will check the presence of a mask and take the temperature of everyone who wants to enter the building," said Sergey Chernov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, NSTU NETI.
According to the order of the rector's office, if symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19) are identified in employees or students, they are subject to the Vice-Rector’s for Academic Affairs order No. 2 of September 8, 2020: "If a person is found to have a high temperature, this person is not to be admitted to the university. If a high temperature is detected in students and staff living in the dormitory, they will be sent to a specially designated separate room (isolation unit)."
"According to the order, in case of the epidemiological situation deterioration, universities should be ready to resume restrictive measures for the educational process," runs the press release of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Previously, training at NSTU NETI was held in a mixed format due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation in the country and in Novosibirsk Oblast. From October 22, 2020, only those classes that required laboratory equipment and specialized software were held in the traditional format. The rest of the lectures and seminars were held remotely via the proprietary e-learning system DiSpace developed at NSTU NETI.
