On March 2nd - 9th, Novosibirsk hosted Chess Championship of the Siberian Federal District.
132 chess players, including 2 grandmasters, 3 international masters and 2 FIDE masters from 10 Siberian regions took part in the competition held in the Spartak Stadium chess hall.
The participants played 9 rounds. Roman Kezin, International master, NSTU NETI Master's program student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, won with the absolute best result - he scored 8 points out of 9 possible. Roman was preparing for the competition under the guidance of Dmitry Bocharov, International Grandmaster and Alexey Dolgov, candidate master, coach of NSTU Sport and Recreation center.
