In 2021, the largest technical university of Siberia will enroll 307 more students for bachelor's, specialist's and master's degrees.

· 84% more students of correspondence bachelor's degree;
· by 244% more students of correspondence master degree.
The increase in the number of state funded places is due to the government programs to support the workforce training for priority economic development sectors. At NSTU NETI, the growth is primarily in technical areas. The leaders are the following areas of study (bachelor's and specialist's degrees):
· Electric power and electrical engineering – 33 more places;
· Computer science and computer engineering – 31 more places;
· Chemical technology – 32 places;
· Operation and service of aircraft and engines – 25 places;
· Physics – 15 places.
"It is very important that this year the NSTU NETI applicants have wider opportunities," comments Sergey Chernov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the University. "Thus, the applicant can choose the results of the Unified State Exam to provide for the third discipline . For example, applicants to technical areas can choose between physics and computer science. In addition, an applicant can take part in the competition in four areas/specialties at our university."
