Sense of painting: adaptation of art for the blind and visually impaired
Now it's the turn of fine art. The exhibition will allow blind and visually impaired people to get an idea about the painting of Novosibirsk artists. 15 tactile copies of the original paintings and sculptures will be made for the exhibition. The visitors will be able to hear the audiodescription and get acquainted with the associative materials which help in a deeper perception of the images on the canvases. The opening is scheduled for May 18, 2020.
The Institute of Social Technologies and Rehabilitation, NSTU NETI is a partner of the project, since it has extensive experience in training people with disabilities. NSTU NETI experts will take part in the presentations on inclusive education and share their experience in applying art therapy methods.
"We always support events that not only expand the potential of people with disabilities, but also contribute to the manifestation of their unique capabilities. Art therapy techniques are actively used in today's inclusive educational space, so our students will definitely visit the exhibition in spring. I hope that they will receive new experience and get acquainted with modern trends in inclusive culture, " explained Lyudmila Mozheikina, head of the Center for Inclusive Support, NSTU NETI.
