More than 400 schoolchildren in the region made a choice in favor of aviation: in eight schools in the Novosibirsk region, there are specialized classes in aircraft construction. The project is being implemented within the framework of the federal program "Aircraft Building Classes" on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI.
On September 21, a meeting of young aircraft manufacturers occured at NSTU NETI. Maria Zhafyarova, the Acting Minister of Education of the Novosibirsk Region, Sergey Chernov, the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs of NSTU NETI, and the industrial partners of the project congratulated the students on the start of the new academic year.
"The guys are now interested in inventing new things and improving existing ones. Fix what is broken, improve what works, and invent what is not there yet. However, in the end, we, adults, of course, would like the successful completion of this project to be your conscious choice of engineering specialties, aircraft construction," commented Maria Zhafyarova, Acting Minister of Education of the Novosibirsk region.
The project involves 14 classes of diverse schools in the Novosibirsk region, which are organized by eight educational organizations, including the Engineering Lyceum of NSTU.
"The project of engineering classes with aviation "coloring" is relevant in the context of the development of the engineering education system as a whole. It is crucial for us to ensure effective interaction between schools and the university: to instill in children a love for technical creativity and engineering. Today, students of specialized classes make and launch airplanes. In a year, they will already be able to design drones, and later they will be able to enroll in technical specialties at the university," said Sergey Chernov, Vice–rector for Academic Affairs of NSTU NETI.
Classes are taught by teachers and students of NSTU NETI, both at the university and in the schools of the region. To date, there are 409 people studying in aviation classes in the Novosibirsk region.
