"Team1780" won the national case competition which took place on April, 6 in Tomsk. The team included Georgiy Moskalev, a graduate student of Physical Engineering Faculty, Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI, Alexander Timirtdinov and Nursulton Islamidinov, graduate students of Geological and Geophysical Department, Novosibirsk State University. All students are the employees of Trofimuk Institute of Petroleum Geology and Geophysics, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences.
The second place was taken by "GeOil" team from Kazan, and the third by "Digital Petroleum" team. A total of 197 teams applied for the competition, with 148 teams from ten regions of the country being able to take part. 12 teams participated in the final.
Competitions included three stages. The first was held distantly. The teams had to solve the case of the oilfield search. The second stage was held in Tomsk; students presented the oilfield automation and exploration solutions. In the final, the participants had to create a scheme of minerals extraction from the explored deposit in 75 minutes.
As a result of the final, the winners got acquainted with the experts from leading oil and gas organizations, received recommendations for their resumes from the organizers of the event and gifts from partner companies.
