Twenty-eight Russian universities are mentioned in the QS World University Rankings 2020/2021 including NSTU NETI. Novosibirsk State Technical University has maintained its position in the absolute ranking of the world's top universities published on June 9 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a highly respected research agency.
As in the previous year, NSTU NETI was ranked within the 801-1000 group. There are 28 Russian universities in the rating. To compile the QS rating, six metrics are used: Academic Reputation (basic criterion), Employer Reputation, Faculty/Student Ratio, Citations per Faculty, International Faculty Ratio and International Students Ratio.

At the end of April, Novosibirsk State Technical University was among 47 Russian universities in The Times Higher Education rating, which assessed the impact of universities on solving global problems (University Impact Rankings 2020).
