Students Novosibirsk State Technical University (NETI) presented an electric canvas leveling system. Designed for packaging enterprises, the development is characterized by ease of construction, assembly and low cost. In addition, the canvas leveling system is able to replace foreign equipment.
NSTU-NETI has developed an electric web leveling system for enterprises in the food industry and packaging. The equipment is a compact system consisting of sensors, aligners, and a single—board computer. The small size and simplicity of the design will allow the equipment to be installed on rolling machines for various types of woven materials, in any workshops, without even having to involve external specialists.
According to Artem Ilyashevich, a second—year student at the University's Faculty of Mechatronics and Automation, the equipment operating at enterprises sometimes does not work quite correctly. High temperatures in workshops can lead to malfunctions in the hydraulic leveling system, which causes displacement and deformation of the web, in addition, difficulties arise in troubleshooting and maintenance.
"The body elements of our system and its components will be made of steel, which will provide additional strength, so you will not have to spend money on repairs. In addition, the maintenance costs of machines with an integrated system will decrease by 60-70%. Software has been developed to fine—tune the system," said Artem Ilyashevich.
The prototype of the equipment will be presented in the first half of 2025. The developer is confident that his installation will be in demand. "Our system is characterized by simplicity and low cost, but the main thing is that it is made from domestic components, which is important now that the government continues its strategy of economic and industrial policy in the context of active import substitution," emphasized Artem Ilyashevich.
The startup team has become a participant in the NSTU-NETI REACTOR acceleration program, which is being implemented as part of the federal project "Platform for University Technological Entrepreneurship" of the state program "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation".
