The first University "Boiling Point" in Novosibirsk Oblast was opened at Novosibirsk State Technical University NETI on May, 21. The opening ceremony witnessed the creation of the regional EnergyNet market working group within National Technology Initiative. The working group will deal with the Novosibirsk smart energy developments evaluation as well as with the search for investors and customers for these developments. The working group became the first regional association of experts on EnergyNet in Russia.
As part of the NSTU "Boiling Point" opening, the working group representatives spoke on the development and implementation of the NTI EnergyNet roadmap.
The purpose of the workshop was to establish the regional EnergyNet market working group on the basis of NSTU "Boiling Point" and to include the research conducted at Novosibirsk State Technical University in collaboration with its partners into the plans for development institutions which provide support to projects for NTI EnergyNet market.
The federal EnergyNet working group was represented by: Oleg Grinko, the leader and co-director of the working group, director of OOO "T-System"; Dmitry Kholkin, deputy director of the working group, head of the digital energy development department of the Center for Strategic Research “North-West” Foundation; Dmitry Korev, program and project director of AO "Russian Venture Company"; Vladislav Vorotnitsky, member of the EnergyNet working group, marketing and sales director of AO "GC "Tavrida Electric" .
Novosibirsk experts included the representatives of Power Engineering Faculty, Novosibirsk State Technical University, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, AO "Academpark", Cross-Sectoral Energy Saving and Development Fund, OOO "Tornado Modular Systems", OOO"RegionEnergServis", OOO "VectorTek", AO "Institute of Energy Systems Automation" , OOO "Kotes Engineering", OOO "Epsilon".
The meeting resulted in forming six key areas of interest for the regional working group to bring forward a set of project proposals. These areas are "Demand Management System", "Active Power Complexes", "Smart Power Supply (Smart grid)", "Energy Storage Systems and Platform Solutions for Synchronization", "Energy Supply of Remote Isolated Areas" and "User Services for Distributed Energy Suppliers and Consumers".
Special attention was paid to the principles and forms of interaction between regional and federal working groups as well as the of joint information support scheme for the projects progress in these areas. The regional working group headed by NSTU NETI representatives is to form project proposals and a list of partners to participate in the work.
"Any developer can come to our "Boiling Point" with the project and receive free expertise as well as assistance in finding investors and partners, possibly even at the federal level. We will help Novosibirsk engineers to be included into the Federal Acceleration Programs that work within National Technology Initiative," says Kirill Zubarev, the leader of NSTU NETI "Boiling Point".
NSTU NETI engineers in collaboration with industrial partners are already implementing several projects related to EnergyNet agenda, in particular, the tests of the first domestic high-power energy storage are now at the final stage. May, 21 saw 12 Russian universities opening "Boiling Points", the co-working space which brings together students, teachers and entrepreneurs. "Boiling points" were opened at universities in Nalchik, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tomsk, Tula, Ulyanovsk, Khabarovsk, Cherepovets and Yaroslavl. In Novosibirsk, the university "Boiling Point" was opened on the basis of the Network Inter-University Business Incubator, NSTU NETI. The "Boiling Point" opening ceremony was attended by Alexey Vasiliev, the Minister of Science and Innovation Policy of Novosibirsk Oblast, and Anatoly Bataev, NSTU Rector.
The launch of "Boiling Points" will allow universities to share educational content. Thanks to the co-working facilities the residents will be able to learn new professions and digital economy competencies using the resources of their university and the "20.35" NTI University platform.
The key goal of the university "Boiling Points" is the involvement of regions and regional industry universities into the technological breakthrough. Universities that have opened "Boiling Points" will be the first to receive proposals for participation in the regional acceleration program of the National Technology Initiative and will be able to raise funds to compensate for the costs necessary for the projects implementation.
