The Park "Gorodskoe nachalo" is located on the Mikhailovskaya embankment of the Ob river, between the railway bridge and Oktyabrsky road bridge. The form of the Trans-Siberian bridge, being one of the historical landmarks of the city, can be seen from the park. The construction of the bridge in 1893 marked the beginning of Novosibirsk history. The monument to Emperor Alexander III was opened here to commemorate the 124th anniversary of the city. According to the Emperor’s decision, the construction of the Trans-Siberian railway began in 1881 The Novosibirsk Museum is located in an old brick building, next to Alexander III monument. The most interesting excursions along the embankment and the city begin in the park.
